The words stupid, ignorant, uneducated, educated, experienced, knowledgeable, intelligent, dumb, naive, gullible, mislead, brilliant and so on have always intrigued me.
Over the decades I've learned how little I know and how little ALL of us know!
It does not take a brain donor to realize that humanity is incredibly un-knowledgeable as a whole.
There are many shades of ignorance .... just like the millions of colors in pixels embedded in high resolution computer screens.
And while intelligence is infinite .. the path to enlightenment is narrow and virtually non-existent.
We humans are animals; mammals to be precise - we are unique in OUR self-awareness and cognitive skills .. but we are fixated on OUR mortality. OUR individual lives take precedence over life itself.
One might argue that half of America is delusional ... since the Presidential race was fairly evenly split.
Many will say that there are simply different opinions and different ways of doings things.
BUT the goals of the do baddies cannot be ignored nor can the ineffectiveness of the do goodies!
Thus we are all told by the corporate owned sponsored and managed media that this was a choice election.
So when do humans ever get what we chose? Do we have choices?
We've been having these elections for over 200 years and how are we doing now compared to when OUR nation was born?
America was given birth as a result of a revolution of united human beings and has made many corrective changes over time ... each significant change being inextricably intertwined with violence of some sort. OUR constitution was and is flawed as were the humans who wrote it. OUR nation is in denial when it come to the American constitution. We choose only to laud the merits and ignore the flaws. Romancing the stone.
As a result of the state of the world then and now the one most evident alarmingly dominant characteristic of OUR nation is OUR military power.
Those who study the history of the world will find that economics is an integral part of the violence leading to wars. Religion is often in the mix since religion acts as a pain killer for economic inequality and human rights abuses.
Nothing much has changed from when humans lived in caves foraging for resources and sometimes competing with other clans or tribes and then eventually nations. Killing one another is the "old" normal.
Tribes and nations and groups and clans and even families are all the same. Humans bonded by similarities in thinking and social customs and location and appearance.
What irons out the wrinkles amongst human beings is education or more precisely the knowledge acquired from an adequate education.
Everything in life is education. Not just classrooms and teachers but life itself is the most important education of all.
Schools help accelerate the learning process as well as prioritize what is most important to know first, second and so forth.
One danger is "sameness" as in pledging allegiance to something or learning about cherry trees and that some things are bad - but without explaining why.
The subjects of human brain power or IQ or memory swirl around in a melting pot called intelligence.
The approach to structured learning is to throw all this knowledge into a soup pot and ladle it out as quickly and in as large a portion as possible. Success is measured by agreement rather than by facts. Logi and the truth are obscured by the intended messages.
Education like everything that teaches us is mostly propaganda injected with enough facts to make it palatable.
Young minds are trusting however ... and we are all young in the beginning.
For most the soup of intelligence is partially digested and even then indigestion is a common outcome.
As is the case with everything in life there is only one way to do things right. But that is theoretical. In practice we do almost everything wrong and we call that freedom!
For example when we eat we do not pre-determine the ideal portions of what we eat. Nor do we consider the chemical makeup of food and water nor our own bodies needs as individuals.
OUR approach to health care is management by crisis.
Individual profit supersedes life itself. We call that "free" markets. In actuality markets are controlled by a few humans in order to contain the masses.
Self-indulgence in excess kills more humans than anything else - yet our focus is on the outcomes and not prevention.
Smoking for example and alcohol as well; even eating!
We associate guns with "freedom" as well as our religions even when they seek to suppress and oppress others who do not think alike.
The word freedom is the most incorrectly used word in the dictionary of humankind.
Recently the issue of legalizing marijuana has become popular ... the harmful effects of the drug will remain so what has been accomplished?
Most will say "freedom". Therefore addiction becomes freedom ... ?
Legalizing drug abuse is calculated neglect on a societal and geographic or even national (Spain) level.
It has to do with reducing expenses and as a result increasing profits.
What else is new?!
Which comes first work or jobs? Many who have jobs do not have enough work to do or meaningful work and thus are under utilized and unfulfilled as human beings.
I have written previously about my roles concept .... and the merits of distinguishing and separating work from jobs.
Is the role of a corporation to create meaningful work that benefits society? or to simply make a profit?
Most reading this will respond without thinking about what I am saying.
One argument for profit is that it motivates and another word for motivation is greed.
Were our society to commit to 100% employment performing meaningful tasks while at the same time allowing individuals to choose their work based on ability and desire - what would America be like today?
Roles are what we need to place emphasis upon .. many otherwise unemployable youth can fill roles that they would willingly assume.
The motivation may be money rather than self-fulfillment but social programs can help with guidance for that.
What we humans must learn and understand more than anything else is about ourselves.
Each of us reading what I write must step back and look at how we live and think and who is pulling the invisible strings attached to our minds.
I said in the article header we need more brains which was not totally accurate ... we each need to use more of our brain.
There is no time better than the present to start doing that by discovering what OUR role in life has been and what we would like it to be.
In all cases there are many roles combined into one person. What is fascinating is the lack of individualism we will discover.
Fathers are fathers .... responsibilities and circumstances may vary but the role of a father is essentially static. Agreement on the mechanics of a role as a template may be difficult due to cultural and religious differences.
My own master role is based on responsibility as the head of a household a tax term! It is something I didn't consciously choose but instead assumed as the result of decisions I've made and relationships I've formed and OUR societal governance.
The role of many who are under-educated, impoverished and disadvantaged is dictated too often by society and not individuals.
It is essential that human beings be enlightened as to what they are capable of and then helped to discover their role in life.
That is at the core of the solution I propose to get human society in America on the right path.
A role centric philosophy that sets certain goals for everyone in society. Corporations need a role as well as individuals.
The role of corporations should be to improve the economy for the benefit of all Americans. That includes 100% employment doing meaningful work that produces benefits rather than profits.
Think about what the benefits of the trillions hoarded offshore could be if we were to remove profit from the equation and seek benefits to humanity instead!
More to come.
