WE American humans (homus americanus) like all humans live within the framework of life that our predecessors have laid out for us.
OUR parents of course have a profound influence on each of us .... and they too have been conditioned to think and act within a framework.
The major frameworks are religious and economic and social.
Each of these three frameworks are superimposed upon the other to varying degrees at varying times.
Life is always in flux. Birth, death and what comes in-between.
Religion is the invisible glue that prevents the insanity of inevitability. Within our minds we can discard reality and substitute such things as religion or fantasy and myth.
The social framework we live within is dictated by commonly held beliefs. Conventional wisdom is one way we reassure ourselves by consensus that we are correct in how we think and act.
We cherish life to the extent that we often allow those among us who don't cherish life, to live albeit in jail cells. We place national societies above human society in order to conveniently discard any responsibility for the disparities that exist among human beings on earth.
I often say that the best of us are the least of the worst.
Finally we have the economic framework which is used as both a measuring stick and a cattle prod.
Most humans are the object of prodding ... while those few who measure do the calculating.
Calculated neglect has a numerical value that can be equated to wealth.
Wealth itself is a myth and survives only as long as each human believes that worthless symbols of wealth are more important than themselves.
Laws empower a few to impose their thoughts upon the many.
Capitalism for example is the dominant economic ideology on our planet today and takes full credit for what should have evolved much more efficiently if sharing, logic and science were employed rather than allowing the will of greed to take power.
Marx was a visionary who saw the simple future that lies before humankind. Yet Marx was several hundred years ahead of himself and has been disregarded as a result.
What is financial empowerment? It is not the same for each of us ... financial instruments must have value for transactions to occur.
Money and securities are data stored on computers. If for example a solar storm caused all computers to stop functioning - money and securities would not exist.
However value does not change.
Nature embodies whatever value exists and has ever existed; first and foremost life itself which is the only value that ultimately counts.
