It's clear to me that what was said at the first Presidential debate wasn't as important as the way it was said for a lot of debate viewers and media pundits.

If I had not listened to the pundits after the debate I would have said that OUR President was boring but polite and truthful and that Romney was all over the place flipping and flopping.

Romney supporters and the corporate media both wanted a Romney victory so badly they totally disregarded what was said and went right for the theatrics.

Many viewers were not happy that it didn't become the slap-fest everyone was predicting.

OUR President turned the other cheek which was seen as a sign of weakness rather than a sign of strength.

You would think the religious right would have lauded OUR President for his polite behavior ... but then the religious right contradicts itself in many ways.

LOUD is the way many think nowadays, lots of noise and colorful blustering trump thoughtful intelligent dialogue.

OUR culture has morphed over time to being verbally garish and ostentatious .... the way we eat, dress and behave is often an example of the craving for both entertainment and attention. 

European nations look at us in amusement and often bemusement.

So it is that Romney is the King with no clothes  - and the invisible thread was provided courtesy of his supporters and the corporate media who are starved for a close Presidential race.

Hundreds of millions of dollars are at stake.

Many expected a better performance than they saw ... 

As for the best qualified candidate? 

Who cares.
