If old Dickey's back to back one hitters could only foretell the future of the franchise this season.

Young Ike has lifted some doubts and young Duda has left no doubt.

And old Santana is  ... well .... old Santana.

Yet what remains is mostly a rag-tag group of role players .... utility players and back-ups.

Young Murphy is for real and still young Wright is right!

The win - loss timeline is stuck at slightly above neutral, plus/minus five.

Yet there are some sparks flying around that could cause an explosian.

Old Dickey is one and young Davis is another.

The steady pistons in the batting engine are Wright and Murphy.

What remains  ... is to be seen.

I opt for the addition of an all star - pitcher or batter  - doesn't matter which.

The Mets could use another game changer since they lost three ... young Reyes, old Beltran and still young Pagan.

Perhaps it is young Baxter or young Turner or young Nieuwenhuis or even the new version of Valdespin- or ideally all four ... 

The Mets have no dearth of potential.

Mets ownership wants fans to take a leap of faith.

Fans want Mets ownership to do the same.
