In America if you have money you can buy freedom - or at least what those in power have defined as freedom.
We all talk about jobs as if they are anything other than the servitude of one human to another in exchange for food and water.
The prism of capitalism has distorted reality and morphed the truth into one massive altered reality show produced 100% by the corporate owned, sponsored and managed media.
Our Big Brother.
Thanks to the media the truth has been diluted by a "fair and balanced" carefully orchestrated 50% - 50% battle with lies. The viewers don't know who is lying or telling the truth. When Americans vote it is a coin flip - and the liars get 50% of the vote.
The constitution and the SCOTUS have created a cloud of confusion to further diffuse the truth and create the 50% - 50% illusion of balance and fairness.
Many here on newsvine constantly argue against their own best interests and on behalf of those who support income inequality.
Nothing is fair about income inequality and Americans are getting screwed by the two party system. One party is significantly better for the majority of Americans than the other.
What would happen if we all worked together to insure that all basic needs were met and we were all enjoying our lives dedicated to our planet, nature and goodness. We need to educate and to rehabilitate those who have been neglected by the policies of the GOTP.
Why are we americans allowing objects of wealth to be more important than life itself?
Happiness, health, food and water ... a place to live free and the opportunity to learn and contribute to humankind.
Most of us recognize good from bad ... but many are resigned to the status quo.
Capitalism and the resultant profit mongers have humans tied to the plow of consumption. Supply and demand are faucets as are jobs.
The corpocracy merely throttles the availability of what people need and stimulate the want for unnecessary items to generate profits.
When profits drop they cut jobs. To maximize profits they obstruct environmental protection and financial regulations.
There is an ample supply of food for all - yet natures bounty is being plundered and exploited and distributed unfairly and those who control distribution hoard and manipulate markets to maximize their profits.
Entire areas of the globe have been exploited for centuries. Africa and Asia and South America are examples of the effects of "capitalism".
The word "imperialism" needs to be revisited and taken out of moth balls .... since most do not use the word or have been taught to ignore it's meaning. Imperialism was the supply side exploitation needed by capitalists who focused on creating demand.
Imperialism and capitalism are brother and sister.
Imperialism is still very much alive although in a different skin and with a different label.
Corporations are the modern day reskinned imperialists.
