For as long as human kind has existed religion has substituted for ignorance.

To this very day humankind has not a clue as to what lies beyond the span of our lifetimes let alone the universe that surrounds us.

We can speculate and fine tune our imaginings until the end of days  - but we will never know the truth.

Thus we invented religion.

Conveniently a small group of humans has always used religion as cover and as a sedative for those whom they exploit and persecute and pillage and plunder.

It is no different today than it was year 0 

Dolan reminded me of this on Easter Sunday when he threw down the gauntlet in the name of religion but was really just doing an Easter Sunday fund raising event.

Money has become the tool of choice to gain anything  - power, votes and a get out of the confession box free card as well.

The actions of those who spout religious epithets contradicts the very tenets of the religions they claim allegiance too.

Women in particular understand that  in 2012 ..... but we all understand it when we take a minute to think about it.

Let's face it we all believe what we want to believe and the truth is irrelevant.

The very concept of religion is based on lies. Lies to ourselves and others that have been handed down from generation to generation and reinforced by habit.

Myth.

And so we substitute the devil for ourselves when we do wrong and we invoke angels when we feel blessed.

Doing good should not be cause for praise  -  it should be normal practice!

None are more evil than those who perpetuate the lies of religion.

Science has forever been encumbered by fiction  - history is proof of that.

Yet today in 2012 we humans are as mislead by religion as we ever were ...

Without religion there is no devil to blame for what some of us do wrong.
