We The People [WTP]

That means ALL of us ... not just those who vote  - not just the wealthiest among us - not just the smartest - not just the strongest or best looking.

"WE" includes the uneducated, poor, deprived of all sexes, races and religious denominations.

The GOTP is attempting to divide WTP ... into Christians and non-christians; into pro-choice and pro-life; into pro urban and pro surburban ..... etc etc etc etc

The politics of exclusion, segregation, theocracy, confusion, fear, anger, hate and division.

Sadly it works  - it is negative advertising on steroids and negativity works or so we are told.

Who's fault is that anyway? WTP.

Think BEFORE you think! Let's WTP negate the negativity.

WTP

If we want to preserve OUR democratic rights WTP must ALL vote!

I left out ALL of us in the poll because that is not where we are today - my hope is that is where we will be the day after the Presidential election - with a clear mandate for moving our nation forward to the future and not backward to the failed policies of the past.

It's ALWAYS the middle.

No matter what our vision of utopia is, if fairness, acceptance and inclusion is truly your credo, then the middle is where you end up.

Sorry, Coral...you left out the only truthful answer I could make to your poll.

All of the Above.

Left, Right and Middle...we are ALL "We the People".

merleliz - on the planet I live on the nation is divided left right and middle ..... the majority of the people and OUR President are in the middle but OUR Government is left and right at the moment.

From your comments in the past you seem to be right. I would appear to be left to many.

However i stand in the middle when it comes to OUR Nation as a whole.

We will become WTP in November if we ALL vote ... if not we will continue to be neutered by a right wing minority elected by a plurality. This is the result of the "division" politics of the GOTP leadership.

"We"...left, right and middle...are already We the People. All United States citizens, regardless of their politics, race, religion, gender or sexual orientation are part of the whole, and entitled to make our opinions known. We also, all of us, have the right to vote for representation of our opinions in government.

This attitude that only those whom you agree with politically should have the right to chart the course of the country, only those whom you agree with politically have the rights to protection of their individual freedoms under the law...is my main bone of contention with supporters of Barack Obama, and indeed, with the man himself.

Any attempts to silence dissent, or to impose legal restrictions upon an individual or group of individuals because of their politics, no matter how much the "majority" may dislike those politics, is unconstitutional and accords ill with the standards of freedom of the individual that this country was founded on.

i was encouraged to read the 7 habits of highly effective people...nice concept but naive

i've come to consider life a series of spectrum and different aspects of a person's life fall different places on different spectrum

fanatics are at the extreme and as you work towards the middle you have more people clumped together that are inherently more reasonable because of what jwcblue says above in 1.2...

unfortunately the dialogue in this nation has been addressing extreme and divisive issues that far too many people listen too...even if you average out in your personality or political spectrum, you can still have opinions about extreme issues that you give far to much weight to...

it is the agenda of those that wish to divide this country to keep the focus on our extreme issues rather than our common ground...

and your poll is incomplete because We the People inhabit a spectrum that does not just have three points of reference, that is part of the problem, not understanding the complexity...

even common ground may only represent 50% of the people, you'll still have another 50% against what you believe, but they will be right or left of that center...

I only know of one politician that can represent "We the People".

That is Ron Paul. He expresses the ideals of freedom and non-aggression that all of us should believe in. If we continue to use politics as a dividing tool then We the People can not be a group united for peace. My views may be in the minority but most would prefer the normalcy of a divided government that doesn't respond to the People's will.

The abnormal has become conventional wisdom. Apathy and resignation are two of the culprits. The despair of the disadvantaged discourages them from voting ... the greed and avarice of those with more, rewards them for voting with power and control over the majority.

Gated communities and private schools are not signs of progress as many would have it ... but signs of the deterioration of OUR American society and education.

We are at a turning point not just as a nation but as human beings.

Will we unify and together lead the way to a brave new future or allow ourselves to be frightened and divided by the naysayers and finger pointers among us?

Remember Wisconsin.

There is no WTP. What kind of bizarre premise does that draw from?

I see we have the usual right wingers with the usual one liners of no value.

They are not the people - they are a radicalized minority of extremists every bit as dangerous as any extremist on the left or the right.

The middle is going to squash the extreme elements in OUR politics who are pulling OUR nation sideways.

Mostly that is the right wing nuts.

But extremism is no longer in fashion .. as well as trickle down and the new Holy Crusade the GOTP uses to divide America.

Conservatives in America are tired of having the GOTP slander the word conservatism with the garbage they pull off.

Progressives as well are not happy with anyone who breaks laws, damages property or burns American flags.

Remember Wisconsin. There is a right way to create change and win the future and a wrong way.

Listen carefully to the words of OUR President

Merleliz .... attributing the actions of a few to the many is a common fallacy .... just as most teapublicans are not represented by the likes of Limbaugh or Bachmann .... OWS is not represented by those few who go overboard ... the same holds true for the nut jobs on the right who walk around carrying guns like Marshall Dillan in Gun smoke ! ;-)

    Dating myself ;-)

Conservatives and progressives agree more on what is right than argue over what is wrong ..... NO one likes waste, war, bickering over individual rights and religion is private and not for public display or forced consumption.

For example the new issue the religious right is making out of the contraceptives ..... it is all a lot of bull @!$%# ..... individuals themselves can sign off - so the law can be tweaked ..

the problem is that religious leaders are trampling on the rights of their own congregation members to SIN! ;-)

Politicizing this isn't going to help the GOTP in November when WTP vote ;-)

This nation doesn't want a christian theocracy and wants Church and State to remain separated ....

The GOTP had best pack their Holy War away in mothballs - or get caught in the crossfire! ;-)

    signed

    CA for WTP ;-)

Coral, some days you amaze! Good thoughts. I tried to think of a Gunsmoke comment and could only think of Miss Kate. Should I even associate such a nice lady to the Republican offerings for office? Oh, Hell, might as well. She only had two but the Republicans have a whole bunch of boobs.

    How so?

The poll data is showing that the respondents are predominantly center and right how does that say that those on the left are more reasoned?

You shouldn't do polls if you do not want the results

It isn't "left", "right", or "middle". It is all of us as a majority.

No matter what anyone has as their own personal belief system our Democracy is based on voters choosing by a majority voice with a majority rule.

The majority that voted in Bush for 8 disastrous years was questionable, especially with dodgy outcomes in Florida and Ohio.

The majority that voted for Obama was a much more clear majority.

The recall elections coming up most notably in Wisconsin and the Ohio repeal of SB5 and Ohio voters forcing Kasich to table the voter suppression bill putting it up for another referendum vote is more proof that people are becoming more involved speaking in larger majorities.

If we want to push back on the negative right wing agenda then we need to stand up and speak, organize, and make the case for the majority of voters which is happening everywhere.

Peaceful protests, ads like the Clint Eastwood Chrysler ad which finally appeals to the patriotic side of every American proving that the right wing doesn't have a monopoly on patriotism or how much others of all political parties love our country and want to work for the best.

The more the patriotic message is from the left, the more inclusive the message and the more the progressive message shows we have more in common than we know, that is when the gap will be bridged and real progress will be made.

I am confident with the negative messaging, the hatred, the fear, the selfishness will become an albatross around the GOP and all we can hope for is to strive for something better.
