There are very few things I worship .... God is not one of them.
I didn't know Steve Jobs and from what I've heard of him I would not have liked him as a person.
Yet Jobs represented to me what every single human being needs to look forward.
Inspiration, innovation, creation, devotion, dedication, imagination and confidence.
He was obviously an exceptional American ... one who represented to all Americans what few in our nation's history represent.
We have our war heros and our martyrs and crusaders ..... and we have our humanitarians and spiritual leaders.
But the ability to see beyond the horizon was Steve Jobs exclusive domain.
I am an apostle of apple computer but actually much more so an apostle of Steve Jobs ........ I realized that when I heard of his death.
Hope is something that is inspired by many things ..... least of all a computer. But somehow embedded in the products that were produced under Jobs heavy hand ... was inspiration and symbolized for me what is lacking in so many other aspects of America's society today.
I have been accused of being contrary and I am - in my failed attempts to mimic genius and feeble attempts at being creative.
Yet Jobs did both with ease .... resurrecting a company that I had followed from inception. A company that was doomed against all odds to fail.
Apple was always inspirational as a technology company ... but then apple was always Steve Jobs .... and when it wasn't apple almost died an early death.
What we can be reminded of by this sad event .... is that Steve Jobs was an American ... and a pioneer.
Something we need more of as we continue to rest on our laurels and defend our historic successes.
Success is always in the future and Steve Jobs was always about succeeding.
