Language is an odd thing - the more I think about it - our thoughts are comprised of words that we humans created - with those words we think and speak and write.
But our everyday lives and our actions are wordless and impossible to describe as well as impossible to deny.
Our actions after all, speak louder than our words.
We humans need an anti-dictionary to define what we really are and how we really live our lives. Many words in the dictionary need to be singled out not as nouns and verbs but as lies.
What do the words peace and love and charity and goodness mean? Do they hold as much importance to humans as the words money, profit, power and "me"?
What are words meant to facilitate?
Lies. Lies to ourselves about ourselves.
All other forms of life and in particular our fellow mammals ... don't lie to themselves or to each other or to themselves. Some will say that is because they are not intelligent - because they can't think. But instinct is the purest form of language and thinking.
As a human I strive to think instinctually. Thus I do not acept the words I hear but weight them against the motives of humanity and individuals who write or speak them. Video is a unique form of language that lies to us ... in fact more so than written or spoken words ever could.
Video is "lies on demand" custom tailored to suit the desires of human viewers as to what lies they prefer to see.
Other mammals rely on solely on instinct to define their actions. Hunger and fear and the desire to reproduce. Humans eat more than is necessary to satisfy their hunger and humans consciously use fear as a weapon to destroy each other and all higher forms of animal life.
Many humans are content when they are not hungry .... and many humans are happy to have a roof over their heads and clothing to wear.
But beyond the essential ingredients all animals need to live, what is it that we humans want?
Is being better (or thinking you are better) the same as being rich (or thinking you are rich)? Does being smart (or thinking you are smart) mean you went to school? Does having a job mean you are not lazy? Are jobs and work one and the same?
Most humans would answer yes to these questions - since we humans have defined the words to supply the answers we want to hear and teach ourselves.
yes, language is a funny thing ... it tells us humans what we want to hear but rarely communicates the truth.
Thus the word "religion" conveniently offsets the word "death" and provides shelter for ignorance. And the word profit dispenses with the word greed and is a haven for thieves.
Take greed for example .... what does it mean to be greedy? Isn't it greed when you have more than enough to live than a child or fellow human being? If so then we are all greedy.
What makes one human better than another?
Our words; when our deeds are far more important.
The truth is that we are all equal - all living creatures contribute equally to the cycle of life.
Except for one species of mammal that contributes nothing and consumes all in their path, including themselves.
