Something that all Americans are but most will never admit too, are financial slaves of the corpocracy.
Not one human on earth has the freedom to avoid the yoke of consumption and debt that capitalism places on their shoulders. Those in power have others bare the burdon and brunt of the work both physically and intellectually in exchange for bread and water.
From the hospital and doctors bills at birth to the funeral costs at death - the invisible lead weight of capitalism is chained to the ankles of humans. Human souls are bought and sold to the highest corporate bidder. Those of least value are discarded by calculated neglect.
Jobs.
We have been conditioned to accept that In order to live we simply can't grow food, raise livestock, hunt, fish and build a shelter from the wood on our land.
Humans must work for the corpocracy who have taken all of the land and all of natures natural resources on that land.
Why do so few possess all the land? Why isn't earth and nature shared with all life on the planet? Why do a few humans need to make a profit at the expense of all life? Especially when there are so many in need. It is those in need who supply the labor and intellectual capital.
A few human leaders controlling entire nations have auctioned off the land, labor and natural resources to feed the hungry jaws of capitalism ....
In medieval times these "corporate dictators" were called lords of the manor - and they included religious leaders. Religion is yet another sedative that humans are encouraged to take to distract them from the pain of tyranny.
Peasants in medieval times were allowed to live on the land in exchange for supplying their physical and intellectual labor for growing their crops and raising their livestock and inventing and building things. In exchange the capitalists or lords of the manor would get an unfair share of everything produced by the serfs or peasants.
Just like it is today.
Only they are called CEO's and politicians, and professionals ... and they point the finger of blame at the only representation we humans have. Ourselves as embodied in our Federal Government and those we elect to represent us.
98% of us are the equivalent of medieval serfs or peasants in this modern day society - some of us contribute to the lords of the manor more than others and are rewarded. This serves to divide humanity.
ALL of us are trained from birth by society and conventional wisdom to do what we are told; the disadvantaged are often self-taught and less likely to fall prey to conventional wisdom. The disadvantaged are the fly in the ointment.
As in medieval times we Americans aka serfs and peasants are being forced into labor in exchange for what we need to stay alive. Yet what nature provides us all is free of charge and would allow for all humans to live without need on the planet - but the mass of humanity is paying some few humans to live so that these few may profit and live longer.
Who does nature belong too? No one.
It is time for all humans to free themselves and care for each other and nature and free nature from the death hold of capitalism.
Earth is not broke .... but humanities leaders are morally bankrupt.
