Fresh off my recently severely criticizing MSNBC's Rachel and Keith for their lambasting our President on the tax break compromise, Rachel had me in mesmerized and in awe last night.
IT was one of the most if not the best ever totally enjoyable, astonishing and enlightening LIVE news related gatherings I have ever seen.
Much like the LARGE audience who sat mouths agape and aghast at the producers Zero Mostel & Gene Wilder's musical "Springtime with Hitler in Germany", I too sat mouth agape at the clarity of purpose and simplicity of truth that was being spoken by Rachel to the delight of the packed house. And when I had time to reflect I was applauding the freshness, sincerity and intelligence of the dialogue Rachel was having with her guests in front of her mesmerized audience.
This first of a series of three shows is a must see not only for Maddow fans and liberals but for all Americans. In one swell swoop several myths were quickly discarded in favor of the simple naked truth. Don't ask don't tell, 911, wiki-leaks and other myths of politics were discussed nakedly and sans the usual spin.
Michael Moore revealed himself to be the thoughtful, ordinary person who sits next to you at a diner or across from you on a train. I didn't agree with all he had to say but I totally agreed with his right to say it. More importantly this was not filtered and distorted by the looking glass of the media.
Although you might not agree with the political opinions of Andrea Mitchell or Moore - you could not refute the fresh smell of honest opinion and truth that permeated the atmosphere. LIVE and in color in high definition.
There are two more LIVE performances scheduled for Thursday and Friday and all I can say is that I cannot wait.
Try to catch the rerun of the first show and watch these two remaining live broadcasts if you care to see what unfiltered news opinion can and should be all about.
